Sinead Desmond Virgin Media
Sinéad Desmond, the Ireland AM presenter, has issued legal proceedings against TV3-owner Virgin Media in a dispute over pay.
It emerged this weekend that Desmond had departed TV3’s breakfast show after 11 years as a presenter there following a row with station bosses over salary differences between her and the show’s co-hosts, Mark Cagney and Alan Hughes.
The presenter is understood to have entered pay talks following the gender pay gap rows in the BBC and RTÉ.
Desmond’s legal counsel yesterday issued a statement regarding her sudden departure from TV3 and said it was now a legal matter.
