Sean O’Brien

Senior Partner

Sean O’Brien has been a practicing solicitor in Tallaght for over 30 years. Sean has a wide experience in dealing with claims for personal injury including product liability cases, road traffic accident cases, accidents at work, medical negligence, public liability and catastrophic injuries cases.  In recent years, family law has become a large part of Sean’s practice.  Again, Sean has wide experience in dealing with this complex area of law and has appeared on behalf of clients in family law matters in all court from District Court to complex High Court cases involving the division of significant personal and business assets.

Since 1998, Sean has also been an accredited mediator with CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution).

In addition to his main areas of litigation practice, Sean also acts in the preparation and drafting of complex trusts to provide for the needs for severely injured and disabled individuals.

In November 2020, Sean was appointed by the Minster for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth Mr. Roderic O’Gorman TD as deputy chair of the Adoption Authority of Ireland.

In 2021, Sean was awarded a Masters Degree in Law (LLM) from the University of Northumbria in the United Kingdom.

Oonagh Foy

Solicitor

Dublin based solicitor specialising in remortgaging, probate, wills, conveyancing buying and selling homes. Local solicitor in south Dublin.

An experienced Solicitor with a demonstrated history of helping clients achieve settlements. Skilled in drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts, property investment, wills & probate.

Oonagh completed her BCL in University College Dublin, following which she obtained her LLM and qualified as a solicitor in 1986. She moved on to London where she gained invaluable experience in Commercial Conveyancing including working on the iconic Canary Wharf re-development. She relocated to Ireland in 1989 where she established a reputation as a highly regarded Conveyancer, and worked for over 20 years as Conveyancing Consultant in a private practice before joining O’Brien Ronayne Solicitors.

Oonagh is an experienced Solicitor with a demonstrated history of helping clients achieve settlements. Skilled in drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts, property investment and will be sure to make your experience as stress – free as possible. She will explain the law to you in ordinary language and is happy to answer any questions you may have.

Jennifer Pettigrew

Solicitor

Jennifer Pettigrew is a Solicitor who trained with O’Brien Ronayne having previously worked with a legal firm in Naas.  Jennifer has been with us for five years now, having graduated in law from Griffith College and qualified as a Solicitor in 2018.
Jennifer’s general practice encompasses both conveyancing and probate and litigation, in particular, personal injuries and family law.

Jennifer has a particular interest in District Court family law in which she has gained great experience.

Geraldine Byrne

Legal Executive

Geraldine Byrne is a Legal Executive who has been with O’Brien Ronayne for a period in excess of 25 years.  Her area of expertise is all aspects of conveyancing, house sales, purchases, remortgages.  In addition, Geraldine also oversees the probate practice in O’Brien Ronayne along with Elaine Wall.

Geraldine graduated first in Ireland in her Legal Executive class back in 2005.

Geraldine is the usual first port of call for clients seeking advice and queries on conveyancing matters.

Orlaigh Fitzgerald is our newest member of staff having joined us in May 2018.  Orlaigh qualified as a Legal Secretary in Rathmines College of Further Education.  Orlaith, along with Julie Kirwan, works primarily on reception with the conveyancing/probate section of the office.
