A man in his 80s was injured after a tractor struck him on a farm in Co Clare.
The accident took place near the Loop Head Peninsula on Thursday. The National Aeromedical Coordination Centre asked the Irish Coast Guard to provide a helicopter so the man could be transported to hospital.
A spokesperson from the Irish Coast Guard centre in Kilkee told the Irish Farmers Journal that he is receiving treatment in the Midwestern Regional Hospital.
His injuries are serious but he is believed to be recovering.
