The three skydivers, believed to be in their 30s and 40s collided mid air and their parachutes failed to open.

The other two bodies were found in a tree nearby.

It is reported that a female diver was was tandem diving with an instructor when they crashed into a solo skydiver mid air.

An eyewitness told The Cairns Post that he could see that one chute was tangled and it wasn’t opening.

He said he watched in horror as he watched the solo diver freefall to the ground.

“I was just watching him in free fall until he went behind the trees, and that was the last I saw.”
