World renowned adventurer and daredevil Johnny Strange died during a wingsuiting accident in Switzerland. He was 23.

The three-time world record holder, best known for climbing the world’s seven highest summits by the time he was 17, is believed to have died after a malfunction with his equipment, E! News reports.

The star, who was a frequent guest on the Los Angeles radio program The Kevin & Bean Show, called into the program on Monday from Switzerland where he talked about the stunt he was preparing to undertake.

On Wednesday, hosts Kevin Ryder and Bean Baxter took to Facebook to share the news of Johnny’s death and their condolences.

“Johnny was an amazing & incredibly inspiring person,” the post reads. “We’ve loved following his adventures & are so grateful that we were able to catch up with him this past Monday from Switzerland… We will miss you, Johnny.”
