Courts DublinA WOMAN is facing prosecution for attempting to cheat her driver’s theory test.

Faria Ali, aged 30, who is originally from Somalia but has an address at the North Circular Road, Dublin has been charged with two counts of attempted deception.

The offences allegedly occurred on January 4 and January 31 last at the Driver Theory Test Centre, Grand Mill Quay, Dublin 4.

Detective Garda Bryan Hunt told Judge Michael Walsh at Dublin District Court that it would be alleged that the woman tried to induce another person to sit her test for her.

The DPP had held that the case should be dealt with at district court level and not sent to the Circuit Court which has wider sentencing powers.
