Ben Affleck has reportedly checked back into rehab.
The bad news comes just days after the actor finalized his divorce from wife Jennifer Garner following his 40-day stint last month in a Malibu rehab facility. According to a source for The Mirror, Affleck, 46, has allegedly told friends that he needs to continue treatment for several more months to work on his sobriety. He has previously admitted to having problems with alcohol.
“He was going to move out and become an outpatient – but he’s checked back in,” the source claimed to The Mirror. “He will stay most nights in the clinic.”
The insider added, “This is not just a disease you cure in one go. Ben has and will always be working hard to get better. He wants to work, see his children and focus on his recovery.”
As RadarOnline.com reported, on November 7, Affleck and Garner, 46, finalized their divorce three years after their breakup. They reportedly agreed to joint custody of their three children, Violet, 12, Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 6.
Garner is now reportedly dating businessman John Miller, while Affleck apparently ended his recent fling with 22-year-old Playboy model Shauna Sexton. Previously, on August 22, caring Garner did an intervention on her long-estranged husband, driving the tearful Affleck to treatment.
The Argo actor/director also spent time in rehab in 2001 and 2017. Despite the divorce, devoted Garner remains determined to help her ex Affleck battle his demons for the sake of their kids. The two were spotted with their son Samuel in Los Angeles last week.
