However it is important to note that the Non-Principal Private Residence Charge NPPR will also be payable in 2013 in respect of certain properties.The NPPR was introduced in 2009 and is payable in respect of residential properties owned by an individual which is not their principal private residence.If an individual/ company owns a property on the 31st of March 2013 they are liable to pay the NPPR fee to the appropriate local authority by the 30th of June. The NPPR charge is €200 and a late fee of €20 is charged for each month that the charge is not paid. The charge has been abolished from 2014 onwards.
